Activity I'd like to try in the Summer
I have always liked playing team sports, Hockey, Baseball, and Badminton Doubles, I'd like to try a sport where if you lose, you can truly feel like it's your fault or your accomplishment. Although I never had too much appeal in Golf, I'd like to take it up. I could never hit a ball 300 yards, and I probably couldn't put the ball in on a 5 foot putt. But you have to start somewhere. I understand it isn't the most physically grueling sport in the world, but it beats sitting on my bottom, watching the Masters on TV.
Goal Outcome
I have reached the long awaited end of P.E. 12. It was a fun journey, but it's time to say our good-byes, and reflect on my time with the class.
At the beginning of the term I had made set goals for myself to accomplish and in the time frame that I was involved in this course, I really did accomplish for myself some very confident results.
I expected myself to do 20 Push Ups, by the end of the course I was able to do 35.
I expected myself to do 40 Sit Ups, by the end of the course I was able to do 25, but my best was 34. It wasn't quite my expectations, but as I sit there and try to do 40 sit ups in 60 seconds, it's quite difficult to maintain that speed. So I am proud of my accomplishment.
I expected to do a 1'30" plank, which my first plank I was only able to hold myself up for a mere 30 seconds, by the end of the course I was able to accomplish a 1'25" plank. I fell short of my goal, but for a guy my size, I am perfectly happy of that feat.
Being able to run a kilometer without resting was a farfetched idea coming from my physical appearance, I regret to inform my blog that I never tried the feat. Although I did rollerblade up hill from 8th Street, to Griffiths Street and Edmonds which is about 4km all up hill without rest.
In the end you look at my goals and think, only 25% of my goals, but in the beginning, I improved in all my times, and scores. So when I look back at my experience in Physical Education 12, I truly had a great time, and perhaps in some more time, I will beat all 4 of my goals, and perhaps make some ambitious new goals!

MMA #4
Being the fourth class trip to the MMA studio, 2nd myself, It was fun to learn new techniques escaping headlocks... I did however injure my neck which bothered me for a couple of days, but in retrospect, it was worth it. Goldy was a great teacher and involving every student in the martial art sport was amusing and fun at the same time. Being paired with Drew was an advantage and disadvantage at times, him helping me learn the techniques further, but also getting my ass thrown to the floor was an experience as well...
All in all, it was a great experience and I definitely recommended the place to several of my friends who are interested in taking up Martial Arts

Week 8 Active Living
During the past week I have played hockey, got into a fight and scored a goal. It was a good week.
On Monday I was in my last game as goalie for the month and I vowed to my team I would score a goal this game, I didn't play too well, I let in 5 goals on 20 shots or so, but I scored a goal! I pulled myself with about 2 minutes left to go, I hurried and took off all my gear and got on the floor, my linemate shot the puck and a beauty rebound landed right on my stick, my eyes lit up as I saw the entire 6x4 cage open for me to pocket my first goal as a goalie and I nailed it scoring the game tying goal with minutes left, of course to my teammates satisfaction I let in a brutal goal to end the game with them laughing at me and that was the end chapter of my floor hockey games for the month of June. of course slightly after the game I was steaming and the one guy who was in on 4 of the goals entered my personal bubble, and if you're a goalie you'll know personal bubble after letting in a softie is about 20 feet. I challenged him and won, well I believe I won. the ref broke it up before any real punches were landed, but I still feel I ended up on top.

MMA #3
As the title suggests we had our third MMA field-trip, although it was my first time ever being inside of a Dojo if you will. It was fun, I had my ass handed to my by Drew wrestling and I learned a few techniques that I awkwardly could do. It was fun and I would love to see Goldie and his Gym again. It was a great experience and perfectly fit in for 16-18 year olds.

MMA Thoughts
Although I have never attended MMA in class before, I know some simple grappling and fighting techniques playing hockey and having my best friends brother being top 5 in BC in wrestling. I think it will be a tough exercise, and a fun experience that I can't wait to try out next week
Self Assessment
I have always put my best effort into physical education, when I'm there, and of course that is the key word. I struggle on some days when it is bright and sunny and the pollen seems to just find me, I can't do very much as my field of view becomes minimal due to the constant scratching and my riggers of dealing with allergies. I try to add contribution with the skills I have, like for instance I could take control of softball because I'm familiar with it, help guide students to proper positions, help pitch, and hit the only home run of the few days we played, and then when we play games I know i'm not familiar with or have a lesser amount of skill in, I go off in the shadows and do my part, but to a lesser degree. I always bring an up beat attitude to PE, I never try to bring people down, or force people to do things they don't want to. I will motivate my partner when we do the sit ups and push ups, and I expect the same back, pushing me to a goal I will thrive to achieve. I don't think I have ever pushed myself to physically do anything, I know my limits and with a small injury I have sustained I may not be able to push myself like I would have liked, I did however manage to get a high amount of push ups successfully completed in the time allotted, maybe not high for some, but for me I did very well. I think the best form of leadership is to understand weaknesses and advantages of some, and even if it wont be in the best interest of the group, as long as its the best percentage of victory, that is leadership.
I believe that while attending the PE class I deserve a B, but including all of my absences and lack of effort to running and the planks a C is fair in my eyes.

My physical goals for Physical Education
I am definitely not the fastest person, nor the person with the most stamina, but by the end of June I want to be able to do,
20 Push Ups in 60 Seconds
40 Sit Ups in 60 Seconds
1:30 Plank
and able to run a kilometer without resting.
a special goal I have is to be able to hit a home run in Baseball which I have accomplished, and post a shutout if hockey becomes available to us.
to be able to complete these goals, I will constantly walk until I can jog at a steady pace without heavy breathing, I will do small amounts of pushups and situps in a small elapsed amount of time, then push the time frame longer but the pace just as fast, and then I will get my endurance up by just constantly trying to plank longer, and longer each time until i match the objective I foresee myself reaching.

Thoughts on PE
I am not an overly physical person, I don't normally bike to class, but I am warm to team sports like hockey and baseball. I don't mind walking and physical exertion.
